The Tennessee Aquarium’s invertebrates are some of the most unusual and surprisingly intelligent aquatic animals in the world. They may trigger chills or make you smile. Some so-called “Boneless Beauties,” such as jellyfish, have even inspired artistic expression. Whether they have soft, bulbous heads surrounded by tentacles like the giant Pacific octopus, armored bodies with impossibly long legs, skins that change color or are housed within a protective shell, these creatures are “Cool!” Two galleries within Ocean Journey allow you to explore the science and art of these marine creatures.
